With an in-depth technical and design knowledge of car racing helmets from the past 40 years, Spindrift will translate your initial ideas into reality.

Our experience with motorsport helmets dates back to the mid-80s when helmet art was in its pioneering days. Over the past two decades, we have been fortunate enough to have spent time to study and handle helmets of Formula 1 legends Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Sebastian Vettel to name a few, and have developed relationships with the leading helmet manufacturers in motorsport such as Arai and Bell.

We are also able to arrange painting of your helmet through our recommended helmet painter Rich-Art Concepts, meaning you can let us take care of the whole process from design to that moment you unbox your freshly-painted helmet.

Check out our gallery showcasing some of the helmet designs that we have had the pleasure of creating with our clients below...

Helmet Design for Mark Priddy

This helmet design for Mark's Arai GP-7 features a chrome base with matte black sections, coupled with a bespoke pin-up girl and silhouette of the Monaco skyline on the back!

Helmet Design for James Cottingham

James wanted an upgrade to his existing design for his 2024 Bell HP7 Evo-III, keeping his traditional purple and green colours, but changing the green to a stunning metallic Verde Medio, and including a nod to McLaren with a touch of papaya orange. The design also features ghosts of the circuits that James will be tackling in the United Autosports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo during his 2024 WEC season. There are two helmets of this design that James will be using in 2024 - one with purple lining and one with green lining!

Helmet Design for Mark Priddy

This Sebastian Vettel-inpsired design features the chrome chill dichroic foil as used on the 4-time World Champion's 2009 helmet which changes colour with the lighting. The matte dark grey based Arai GP-7 also includes a custom-designed by Spindrift pin-up girl that Mark has used on many of his previous helmets which we changed slightly for this edition, and the feathers also featured in his racing identity.

Helmet Design for Sam Hancock

We worked with historic racer, Sam Hancock, on this design for his Schuberth SP1 for the 2024 racing season. Sam wanted to change his design for 2024 but still wanted to retain his usual colours and a distinctive, classic look. We decided on using a fluorescent red which really pops against the white, reminiscent of the Marlboro McLarens of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Looking forward to seeing this hit the streets of Monaco in a few weeks!

Helmet Design for Daniel Adomaitis

Kart racer, Daniel Adomaitis, wanted a helmet design that featured the colours of his kart and race suit, whilst servicing prominent logo placement for his valued sponsors on his Arai CK-6.

Helmet Design for Harvey Stanley

Harvey wanted a development of his existing design with a fade from yellow to orange from bottom to top, initially inspired by Mika Hakkinen’s iconic design for his Bell GT5 Carbon. We kept the dark metallic blue and white and made the mosaic effect a bit more prominent, and changed up the stripes to make it a bit more cool. Also, we added Harvey’s family tartan around the halo in Jackie Stewart fashion, as well as the ‘I Love Norks’ punch label on the back to show Harvey's sense of humour!

Helmet Design for George Clarke

We teamed up with Rich-Art Concepts to create this new design for karter George Clarke on his Arai CK-6 for the 2024 season! George wanted something trick with white, fluorescent green, holographic sparkle key lines and chrome!

Helmet Design for Nick Padmore

For 2022, multiple Historic F1 Champion, Nick Padmore, wanted to freshen-up his existing helmet design but keeping his family's traditional green and blue colours. We also kept his trademark teardrops on the top, albeit changing them up slightly for his Arai GP-7 SRC ABP.

Helmet Design for Justin Turner

For this helmet design on his Bell RS7 Pro, Justin wanted something unique but still distinctive and, being a Fernando Alonso supporter, wanted to incorprate some unusual angles and shapes!

Helmet Design for Mark Priddy

A truly '90s-inspired design but on a contemporary Arai GP-7! This design was created when Mark was about 8 years old. He gave us the basic design and we worked with him to add the splat effect on the back and the classic Schumacher cheque effect in black and silver on the top. The all-gloss design features the striking Marlboro DayGlo red as used on the '90s McLarens.

Helmet Design for Karsten Le Blanc

We created this design for historic racer, Karsten Le Blanc, who wanted something classic looking and blue for his Stand 21 IVOS-Double Duty helmet.

Helmet Design for Craig Thompson

Renault Clio racer, Craig, wanted something 'out there' for his 2021 helmet so we came up with this helmet design with a carbon base, featuring the colours of his race team, TTR, on this Stilo ST5. The helmet also features a fluorescent pink stars and a trail which symbolises his daughter.

Helmet Design for Charlie Brisker

Mazda MX-5 racer, Charlie Brisker, wanted a new helmet design using the black and yellow identity colours of his race team, Team Venture Racing, along with his Wife and Children's names. The all-gloss helmet, painted on a Bell RS7, features a Union Jack on the top in holographic paint along with Charlie's bulldog mural on the back in memory of his Father.

Helmet Design for Aaron Scott

Aaron came to us asking for an update of his existing helmet design for his Stilo ST5. Although Aaron has changed his design over the years, he's always kept the 'A' on the side and feathers on top, reminiscent of motorcycle rider, Scott Russell and former F1 driver, JJ Lehto. The helmet also features the yellow, red and green in memory of Aaron's close friend and Formula Ford racing legend, Neil Cunningham. In addition, we added the handprints of Aaron's 3 children on the back which was a cool touch!

Helmet Design for Rupert Clevely

Historic racer, Rupert Clevely, came to us for a design on his Bell HP7. He wanted something classic-looking, like the cars he races, and we decided on a Chris Amon-inspired shape from the front to back, and added the Alfa Romeo clove to the back, complete with scuff marks and oil for that vintage feel!

Helmet Design for Michael McInerney

We were approached to come up with a design for Michael McInerney's Bell HP7 using the colours of his stunning Mosler MT900R.

“Just want to say thank you again! Awesome design work and an absolute pleasure to work with you on these projects. I can't wait for the painter to get started!”

Craig Thompson

“It was pleasure to ask Spindrift Media to put together a design for my new helmet. Mark's attention to detail and passion to deliver gives me every confidence to use him in the future for any other opportunity.”
