Rob Bell has confirmed the first of his racing plans for the 2020 season, and they will see him re-join Shaun Balfe and the Balfe Motorsport team for another challenge on the British GT championship with the McLaren 720S GT3. Rob will once again partner Shaun Balfe having finished third in the 2019 British GT drivers championship standings, and they will be looking to build on the strong finish to the season from the opening round at Oulton Park over the weekend, 11-13 April 2020.
Rob and Shaun have enjoyed much success during their years racing together, and they will once again be sharing the cockpit for a challenge on the GT3 drivers and teams championship, building on the 3rd place they achieved in 2019.
They will return to the track in the red and white McLaren 720S GT3, which made its British GT debut with Balfe Motorsport in 2019. After a challenging start to the start of the year, Rob and Shaun quickly found their form with the new GT3 model from Woking, and took podium finishes at Snetterton, Donington Park, Brands Hatch and a memorable first domestic race win for the McLaren at the final round of the year during the second visit to Donington Park.
Rob Bell -“I am really excited to confirm that I will be back racing with Balfe Motorsport and alongside Shaun for 2020 in the British GT Championship, racing the 720S GT3.
“We continue to learn about the 720S GT3 and the team is working hard to maximise all areas of performance and become a stronger unit. I’m really pleased to be a part of the British GT Championship again, as this season we showed significant strides forward at each round, proving that the McLaren was the car to beat at the final round in Donington Park. I am looking forward to getting back in the car and pushing for more strong results from the first round.”
