Radlett-based racing driver, Alex Jones, will return to the cockpit of a Formula Vee this season with Bears Motorsport, it has been confirmed.
The 24 year-old, who tested an FIA Formula 4 car at the end of last year, will be embarking on his fifth season in the ultra-competitive and well-subscribed grids of the 750MC Formula Vee Championship, and he will be looking to build on his promising performances from last season.
The 2017 season marks the 50th Anniversary of Formula Vee in the UK, and to celebrate, Cadwell Park will host a 'Vee Festival' featuring non-championship races on 29th-30th July.
In addition, the 14-round championship calendar will visit 7 circuits throughout the UK, starting at Oulton Park before heading to the likes of Brands Hatch GP, Silverstone and Rockingham, before the season finale at Donington at the end of September.
"I can't wait to get back in the car this season", said Jones. "The winter break sometimes feels like it's taking forever but I've kept myself busy by training and keeping focused so I can give it everything when I get back in the car.
"Unfortunately, due to personal commitments, it looks likely that I'll have to miss the opening races at Oulton but my aim is to be out at Brands in May which will be held on the full Grand Prix circuit so I'm really looking forward to that."
