Aberdeen racing driver Glynn Geddie is looking forward to his home race for Rounds 3 and 4 of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Silverstone this coming weekend.
The BRDC Rising Star, and co-driver Dan Brown, will be looking for a strong result in their Apex Tubulars and STP-backed AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia after enduring a character-building season opener at Portimao, Portugal at the beginning of the May.
In Round 1 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve the pair managed to bring the car home in P8, despite being faced with a series of mechanical problems which hampered their performance, but were forced to retire in Round 2, with only 20-minutes of the race to go.
However, this weekend will see Geddie and Brown launch a challenge to make up for lost ground at Portugal and give their home fans something to cheer about.
"I'm really excited ahead of Silverstone and everyone is keen to show what we can do, so in a way our season starts now. It's a circuit I really enjoy driving and I'll have a lot of home support in the shape of friends, family and my sponsors, so hopefully we'll put on a good show for everyone and bring home two solid results.
"Portimao was a frustrating weekend and neither Dan nor myself knew the circuit before we arrived there, but we both are very familiar with Silverstone and I tend to run well there, which should put us in good stead against our rivals.
"You never know what you will be faced with in motorsport but I think as long as the car doesn't have any major problems, we will have a strong package and be in with a decent shot of a strong result."
