Aberdeen's Glynn Geddie has been named as one of ten talented racing drivers who will compete in the new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race car this weekend.
The new 12C GT3 is making its 24 hour race debut at the renowned Total 24 of Hours of Spa event in Belgium.
The 21-year-old will line up in the Pro-Am Cup category in Car 60 as part of the McLaren GT and VonRyan Racing team, alongside Phil Quaife, Adam Christodoulou and Roger Wills.
The Total 24 Hours of Spa event forms the second stage in a series of development races as the engineers prepare the 12C GT3 model for next season.
Glynn Geddie said: "I feel honoured to be part of something as special as this with such an innovative car brand as McLaren.
"This is the first model to be converted from a McLaren road car to compete in a 24 hour race since the McLaren F1 GTR at Le Mans back in 1995.
"I'll be among some esteemed company for the race and I'll be paying full attention to make sure I learn as much as possible to aid my future development.
"It's going to be quite a thrill to get behind the wheel of the MP4-12C GT3 and I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing what it can do at Spa-Francorchamps."
McLaren GT is using the 2011 race season to develop the 12C GT3, with 20 cars due for delivery to private teams ahead of the GT3 series racing season in 2012.
CRS Racing Team Principal Andrew Kirkaldy, who mentors Glynn in the British GT series, will line up alongside Alvaro Parente and Oliver Turvey in Car 59.
