As the Porsche Carrera Cup GB takes a six-week break between last weekend's Croft and Snetterton at the beginning of August, Aberdeen's Glynn Geddie heads to Silverstone this weekend to take part in the Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championship.
The championship is run by Ford Racing and the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC). It incorporates three models of the Fiesta and Geddie will be running in Class C for 2000cc Fiesta STs.
Apex Tubulars-backed Geddie will be driving for the Kempster Ford outfit, founded by friend Nick Sanderson, and is looking forward to tackling Silverstone's National circuit with a new challenge.
"For sure it's going to be a bit different from driving the Porsche - with the Fiesta having front-wheel drive for a start! Although this is more a club-level event with less pressure than I'm used to, I obviously still want to do the best job possible to help promote the Kempster Ford team, and I would like to say thank you to them for inviting me to drive the car.
"I'm quite excited about getting behind the wheel and working with the team this weekend. It's going to be new experience so I guess we'll see how we do in testing on Friday."
