Rob, a McLaren GT factory driver, will be joining Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke for the ultimate sportscar endurance race with the trio campaigning the No.97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
Rob said of today’s announcement, “It’s great to be going back to Le Mans, and returning to Aston Martin Racing makes it even more special. The No.97 car line up with Darren, Stefan and myself, is a strong one. We all have plenty of experience and know each other well, so not only will we be formidable opposition, there will be a strong camaraderie.
“I wasn’t at Le Mans last year”, adds Rob, “and I certainly missed it. It’s very addictive, so I’m pleased to have been able to secure a return and be racing with a great team. I’ll have a run-out with the No.97 car at the Six hours of Spa, which will give me a chance to refamiliarise myself with the car and the team before the Le Mans test.”
Rob adds, “This season is shaping up nicely for me, with my Aston Martin outings dowetailing with my Blancpain Endurance Series campaign with the McLaren 650S GT3 and Von Ryan Racing, as well as my coaching duties for the McLaren GT Young Driver programme.”
Bell is currently preparing for the season ahead with a busy test programme as well as being trackside for the McLaren GT Young Drivers.
