Aberdeen's Glynn Geddie goes into the penultimate round of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Rockingham this weekend as Pro-Am 1 championship leader.
The Team Parker Racing pedaller has dominated the second half of the season so far, maintaining a 100% win record since the beginning of August, but is well aware that in such a competitive one-make championship, anything can happen. A mixed bag of luck and results in the early stages of the season saw the Apex Tubulars-backed ace down in 4th in the scrap for the championship lead, but Geddie heads into this weekend with a commanding 9-point advantage over closest rival, Robert Lawson.
"I have to say that it's looking pretty good so far but, especially at this point in the season, nothing is set in stone", explains Geddie. "If we can keep the momentum going then that will relieve a bit of the pressure for the finale at Brands Hatch but there's never any time to relax.
"Rest assured though that the team and myself will be doing everything in our power to win at Rockingham. The team has really come together as a unit over the past few months and our recent form has reflected perfectly how hard we've all been working, so I'm really looking forward to, and am feeling very confident ahead of, this weekend."
The meeting for Geddie kicks off with a 30-minute qualifying session on Saturday morning at 11.15, with the first of the two 19-lap Porsche Carrera Cup GB races the same day at 16.10. Race 2 is scheduled to take place on Sunday at 13.15 and will feature as part of the live television broadcast on ITV4, which runs from 11.00 until 5.30.
