Having scored two wins out of three at Rockingham last time out, Oldham's Alex Walker will be looking to maintain his strong form as the InterSteps Championship heads to Donington Park, Derbyshire for Rounds 9, 10 and 11 this weekend.
The 16-year-old has visited the podium in every race so far this season, with the exception of Round 6 at Rockingham where he was unable to start due to a gearbox issue.
However, Fortec Motorsport's Walker soon put his frustration behind him by taking lights-to-flag victories in the two races that followed that weekend, which enabled him to close the gap on the championship leader to just two points, as they prepare for Donington in support of the UK round of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).
"Everything is heading in the right direction from a championship point of view and I've been doing everything I can since Rockingham to make sure my development continues through to Donington.
"I had the gearbox problem at Rockingham which was out of my hands, but that's motorsport and we limited the damage by winning the other two races, so we have every reason to remain upbeat.
"I'm just two points behind in the championship now and the Fortec guys are doing a mega job, so we'll keep pushing and hopefully we can get on the top step of the podium again this weekend."
