Reigate-based racing driver Nick Padmore was on duties in both the Radical UK Cup with Gary Kane and the Speed EuroSeries with Jean-Lou Rihon at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium last weekend. RAW Motorsport's Padmore and Kane finished 1st and 2nd in their two races while the Padmore/Rihon combo finished 3rd and 4th for Team TFT, all in support of the World Endurance Series races.
Padmore put the Radical SR3 RS on Supersports class pole for Friday's Race 1, which was started by Kane and who kept the entry in the lead throughout his stint before handing over to Padmore.
Enjoying a battle with the sister RAW Motorsport SR3 RS of Alex Kapadia of the Euro class, Padmore took the Supersports win and secured more points to extend his and Kane's lead in the championship.
Saturday's Race 2 took place in torrential rain and Padmore again diced with Kapadia for the class lead before finally getting in front just before he pitted.
Kane rejoined the field and headed the class before the safety car was deployed. As the race got back underway, Kane was hit from behind at the top of Eau Rouge, losing a place but managing to keep it out the barriers, and limited the damage by holding on to P2 until the chequered flag.
In the first of the Speed EuroSeries installments on Friday, Belgian Rihon started from P5 and stayed with the sister Team TFT car for his 30-minute stint before handing over to Padmore.
Padmore stayed in the car for the remaining hour and picked off P4 before snatching the last step of the podium in the closing four laps of the race.
Despite treacherous conditions on Saturday morning, Race 2 went ahead as scheduled and Padmore, starting from 5th, got up to P2 and had a look at the lead before handing over to Rihon.
Rihon just missed out on a podium in the closing stages of the race but put in an impressive performance in tricky conditions to earn himself the 'Driver of the Day Award'.
"It's been a manic weekend competing in four races but I've enjoyed every minute of it and we've achieved some great results!
"Both of my co-drivers this weekend, Jean-Lou and Gary, have driven very well and played a pivitol role in the results we've achieved, and a special well done to Jean-Lou for receiving the Driver of the Day Award.
"The conditions on Saturday in the Speed EuroSeries race were some of the worst I've raced in and the car was aquaplaning at 150mph with visibility was almost non-existent.
"Gary and I are still leading the Supersports class so, although there's still a long way to go and no one is making it easy for us, it's a positive position to be in as we approach the half way stage of the season."
Padmore returns to action, with Rihon, for Round 3 of the French V de V Championship at Motorland Aragon, Spain on 18th - 20th May.
