New British GT Season Beckons for Bell

01 April, 2015

The 2015 British GT Championship gets underway this Easter weekend with two races at Oulton Park in Cheshire.  The new season brings a new car, a new team and a new team mate for Matt Bell who has teamed up with Derek Johnston to race the No.17 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

With a busy grid of 18 GT3 and 16 GT4 cars representing nine different manufacturers, it looks set to be another thrilling year of on-track action in the nine-round championship. After coming tantalisingly close to winning the British GT title in 2013 before having more than his share of bad luck in 2013, Matt is hoping that 2015 will be his year.

“We have all the right ingredients to challenge for the title and we are in it to win it,” he said. “I have been very impressed with TF Sport and their Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The car is very different to the Audi I raced in previous years but working with TF Sport has allowed me to get used to the car very quickly and I think we’ve got it working very well. I’m also happy to be team mate to Derek Johnston; having a quick team mate is essential and he has consistently been at the front in British GT for the last two seasons so I’m confident we will be very competitive.“

“I never set my sights on anything less than winning,” he continued. “I think with the team around me and Derek as my team mate we have a great chance. We’re all very motivated and have been pushing hard in pre-season testing to get ready for an assault on the title, so I’m very excited to get things started at Oulton Park this weekend!”
